The Sondra Brown
Glenn Scholarship:
A Legacy of Purpose and Promise
The Sondra Brown Glenn Scholarship holds a deeply personal place in our hearts, honoring the life and legacy of a woman whose passion and purpose helped shape the foundation the Essential Genesis Learning Academy (EGLA). As a co-founder of EGLA in Central Arkansas, Sondra worked alongside Briona Slaughter and Carlous Benton with unwavering dedication, ensuring that the Academy operated with excellence and intention from its earliest days.
Sondra’s unexpected passing was a profound loss to all who knew her. Her wisdom, grace, and quiet strength left an indelible mark on our community. In her honor, we established this scholarship as a living tribute to her tireless efforts, her belief in education as a pathway to empowerment, and her commitment to nurturing the next generation.
Though EGLA has since closed its doors, the spirit of its mission endures through the Sondra Brown Glenn Scholarship. Each May, we award this scholarship to a graduating high school senior who embodies the values Sondra held dear: resilience, service, and the pursuit of knowledge. It is more than financial support; it is a symbol of a legacy that continues to inspire hope, excellence, and opportunity.
